Do you ever pay attention to that small green sign when youre coming into Wayne County at the county line? You know, the one that says, Welcome to Wayne County - Home of Don Parmley - Founding Member of The Bluegrass Cardinals. Well, if youve saw that sign and dont know who Don or the Bluegrass Cardinals are, watch the video below. It was shot circa 1985 on the Ralph Emery Show. In my opinion, they were one of the greatest bluegrass groups of all time. They toured the states for years playing home grown bluegrass music, shared stages with some of the biggest names in bluegrass, and had a lengthy, successful career. Im very proud to say that I know Don and David, have had the pleasure of playing music with them, and hail from the same Parnell community here in Wayne County as them.
