Do you ever refer to the NMCs code of conduct when you have concerns about poor care? The NMC is publishing a revised version of the code at the end of this year - and it could include a new clause stating all nurses must ensure patients get the basics of care, including: Access to nutrition and hydration Help if they are unable to feed or drink liquids by themselves Patients being cared for in clean and hygienic conditions Patients are being physically handled and moved appropriately How do you think having these basics spelled out in the code would help strengthen your case if you ever wanted to raise concerns to employers?
