Do you ever see a race and just KNOW you have to sign up for it? I just registered for the Toledo Pride Nite Glo 5k. Run at night, with glow sticks and lots of swag, it’s going to be a blast. And I get to support an issue that’s close to my heart. But the absolute best part is that I got my dad to register for it too. He’s been running EVERY single day for as long as I can remember. No days off. Ever. In years. “This is pretty exotic for your old man,” he said. “I’m slow. I run slow. I’m going to slow you down.” “Dad, I don’t care. I know your pace. It would be fun to do it with you.” “Alright, I don’t really run 5k’s. But I guess I can do it with you. But we’re going to go REALLY slow.” I was planning on using this 5k to actually run for time since it’s at night and I’m much faster at night. But running my dad’s pace and just having him there will be way better than any PR ever could be.
