Do you exercise and if you do, why do you do it? I train because it makes me happy - no more, no less. Ive been that person who ate nothing but junk food, drank too much, smoked too much and spent endless hours on the couch. I thought it made me happy at the time - the reality is it didnt. The truth now is that Im a much happier person when Im active. I have more energy, more enthusiasm and an all round better outlook on life in general. Those who know me will confirm what a miserable ba**ard I am when Im injured or sick and cant train. Im not pleasant to be around I assure you. I still allow myself plenty of treats and if I want to go out at the weekend for a few drinks then I do. Lifes too short not to. I do all of this for me - nobody else. Im not suggesting that everybody needs to train twice a day 6 days a week but it works for me. If you are genuinely happy with sitting on the couch eating, drinking & smoking then good luck to you - you only get one life, you gotta do what makes you happy and so long as you arent hurting anybody I say do as you please. If on the other hand you are sick and tired of feeling unhealthy, have no energy, you sleep but still wake up tired every morning, you dont like your body and you get out of breath walking up the stairs then start making some changes. Change one meal a day to a healthier alternative, switch fizzy drinks for water, cut back on the sweets and cakes or even just go for a walk in the evening. You never know - it may just change your life :) John
