Do you feel it? Are you overwhelmed. Are your work hours long? Did the kids make you crazy today? Are you disappointed in your life? In yourself? Is your heart broken? Did nothing turn out like you thought? Do you wonder... how you are going to get it together for Christmas? Do you wish for two minutes of quiet? Is there a sadness thats nagging? Do you wonder how you are going to do it all? Well, scoot over. Im going to sit beside you and we are going to just be.... Because sometimes... the most spiritual thing you can do is rest (or nap-thanks Melissas momma!) Father God... that flung the stars into space and that calls them by name... you know us. you are so familiar with us... with our crazy... our broken... our hurt... with our ugly attitudes and bad choices... You know us and you love us... and sometimes... if we are honest...you feel really far away... and this life doesnt make sense and it feels big and overwhelming... but you are good... and you are right and you know what its like to send Peace into chaos... and on that Christmas so long ago... a babys cry broke through and that cry grew into the man that would stand in the middle of a stormy sea and say Peace be still and tonight we need you we need that peace and you said to ask... and so we are... Amen.
