Do you have an interest in our local birds and want to discover where you can find them? How you can identify them? BirdLife Western Australia in partnership with the Shire of Kalamunda are delighted to present two free workshops on the wonder of birds: an Information Session on Thursday 14 August from 7:00pm to 9:00pm followed by a weekend Birdwatching Walking Tour on Saturday 16 August 2014 from 8:00am to 9:30am. The Information Session will cover a range of topics including local birds in the area and where you can find them, how to identify birds from their habits, calls and markings, what makes a bird watcher and how to use binoculars and field guides. CEO Rhonda Hardy said, “This is a wonderful opportunity for people to get more close and personal with the array of local birdlife in the Shire of Kalamunda.” “Experts from BirdLife WA will be facilitating the free sessions and sharing their passion and knowledge on the joys of birdwatching.” “So whether you’re an observer, twitcher, conservationist, scientist or just love to admire birds be sure to register for these two exciting workshops and explore the intriguing world of our feathered friends.” The Information Session will be held at Gooseberry Hill Community Hall and the Birdwatching Walking Tour will be held at Ledger Road Reserve, both located at 42 Ledger Road in Gooseberry Hill. BirdLife Australia has been a voice for birds in Australia since 1901 and is dedicated to achieving outstanding conservation results for our native birds and their habitats.
