The Poughkeepsie Journal seeks a Local Desk editor to create innovative content that grows the Poughkeepsie Journals reach and engagement online, in print and via social media, and is integral to the leadership of the desk and newsroom overall. The editor should be comfortable with web and social-media analytics; must place a premium on watchdog reporting; can build the Journals leadership positioning and branding in the community; and focuses on priorities that equip readers with information that helps them understand their town, county, region and world. The position also requires big-picture thinking, problem-solving and attention to detail, as well as the editing ability to make a routine story sparkle and tailor content for mobile and tablet platforms.
