Do you have suggestions for this mom? When my husband comes home in the evening, all hell breaks loose. It is especially hard on my oldest child (almost 4). Sometimes the kids are still eating, sometimes they are finished -our eating schedule is the same but his arrival time changes. My son will go from happy, normal kid behavior to whining, demanding, rude. I know this is not unusual, and that he is mourning the focus of my attention (from kids to husband) and wants some attention from his dad - but his dad often just wants to talk to me for a little bit first, and loses patience quickly, which makes a rough start to the evening. Do you or your readers have any tips for easing this daily transition period? My husband is not very RIE oriented, so trying to get him to change his behavior may not work. Thank you.
