Do you know Jesus? Do you know what He did for you? Knowing that - TopicsExpress

Do you know Jesus? Do you know what He did for you? Knowing that Jesus took away all of your sins and earned for you eternal life in heaven fill you with the joy of salvation? Are you keeping that message and that joy a secret or are you sharing it with others? In todays devotion we give thanks that we have been brought to trust in Jesus and His great love for us, but we are also encouraged to share that joy of salvation through Jesus with others. We also believe and therefore speak” (2 Corinthians 4:13). How richly God has lavished his love upon us in Christ! God has shown his love among us: he sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. Christ’s love for us has given us life—and not just earthly life, but spiritual and eternal life! How can we keep that news to ourselves? This good news of salvation and life through Jesus cannot be contained inside of us! There are so many people who need to hear about this love of Christ for them. Most amazing of all, God has chosen to use us to be the conduit of this love to our world. He has given us the privilege of calling us to serve him by sharing with our world his deep and abiding love for them. God has blessed us through his Word and Sacraments by building us up in our faith. We pray that he will also bless us by leading us to boldly and confidently step forward to share that faith with others. I want to encourage you to find more ways in your regular life that you can let Christ’s love speak through you. Do you know friends and neighbors who are experiencing chaos and unrest in their lives? Let Christ’s love motivate you to share with them the peace that comes only through him. Do you know a coworker who is lost and alone? Let the love that you know in Christ lead you to share with him or her your Lord and Savior who promised that he will be with you always. Invite a friend to join you for worship. Offer to go with a neighbor to a Bible information class to help him or her learn more about Christ’s love. Share a passage of Scripture with an acquaintance who is sick or depressed or unsure of God’s love for them. Join us for a neighborhood canvas or outreach event here at church where you will have the opportunity to speak of Christ’s love. Every day God puts multiple opportunities before us to let Christ’s love speak. How important that we take advantage of these opportunities! Given the reaction by many to the love of Christ, we may be tempted to be shy and quiet in our witness of our Savior. Our fears of not knowing what to say or how people might react can get the best of us. In this Sunday’s sermon God encourages us that we can be confident as Christ’s love speaks through us because we have God’s promise that this isn’t our message but God’s. That same God promises never to leave us as we speak of his love. Join us for this great encouragement in our witnessing for Christ. Christ’s love is our calling. As we have been encouraged and edified by God’s Word, let us respond to that Word with joyful and thankful hearts. The truth is evident: Love Speaks! It’s just natural for us: “We also believe and therefore speak.” We pray that God blesses our work to faithfully share him with our world. Prayer: Dear Lord in heaven, use me in every way possible to share the message of forgiveness, salvation, eternal life, and Your love with others. Amen.
