Do you know about how the Kelty Centre started? In the beginning, before there was any staff, the Kelty Mental Health Resource Centre was just a room with a bunch of bookshelves of resources on Eating Disorders! The Kelty Centre started with an idea, funding from BC Mental Health & Substance Use Services, and a generous donation from The Kelty Patrick Dennehy Foundation. The BIG idea was: • To assist BC children, youth, parents and families find the resources to understand and manage mental health and substance use challenges • To provide timely, relevant, evidence-based and user friendly resources/information to improve understanding of MH&SU issues among children, youth (up to age 25) parents and families • To provide resources and information for people of all ages with eating disorders
