Do you know that feeling that stirs deep inside to have an intimate throne room encounter with Jesus like you have experienced some time ago, and it seems that you randomly experience at various times in your life? I say randomly, because sometimes in prayer it just seems that you break through to another level and you arent always sure that you know what you did different that time, but you would like to figure it out so that you could do it again. I have come to learn that the primary obstacle that keeps us back in our spiritual advancement is the natural mind. It is all a matter of how we see things that can make all of the difference. Renewing the mind is not simply putting better facts into our natural mind, but it is putting on the mind of Christ. It is seeing things from the God perspective. The God perspective can change everything. From the perspective of the natural mind, the spies that went into Canaan to assess whether Israel could take the land, saw the inhabitants of the land as giants. Numbers 13:33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight. Did you notice they said, we were in our own sight as grasshoppers? From the perspective of the 10 spies out of the 12 that went in; they saw themselves as grasshoppers standing before giants. Standing on the earth and looking up, these indeed looked like giants.Joshua and Caleb however saw from another perspective; they saw from heaven looking down. They saw mere mortals standing against the people of God. We are seated with Christ in Heavenly places. Begin to see everything from that direction and when you do, giants will appear as ants far beneath you. Now back to the throne room; we have been looking from the wrong perspective...we have been picturing everything backwards...and that can keep you from experiencing Gods presence. We to often picture ourselves from an Old Testament perspective; God is in the temple; we are outside...we have to stop before we enter and cleanse ourselves and offer up a sacrifice for our sins. We carefully enter, and stand before the veil. God is on the other side. We, like the High priest, hope that once a year, we can enter behind the veil and God will actually let us stand in His presence, and survive to tell others about it. That is all wrong. The New Testament tells us that WE ARE the Temple. At Jesus death the veil that separated us from the glory of God was torn from top to bottom. The sacrifice for our sins was offered once, for all.We are invited to come as we are, into Gods presence with boldness so that we may obtain mercy and favor. God is not only not far from us, but He is in us.....but even better than that, He has joined His Spirit with our Spirit and the two have become one; inseparably. I Cor. 6:17But the person who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him. ... That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in ... We are not knocking on the door to the throne room hoping He will let us in if we grovel enough; we are in the throne room with Him now. We are not pursuing a reluctant God who is holding out on us; He is persuing us and as mind blowing as this may sound, He is more interested in being in your presence, than you are in His!!! He loves you so much, that He longs to spend time communing with you. We are not standing at the door of the temple and knocking; but Jesus is standing at the door and knocking at every mans heart; desiring to come in and to nourish you at the table of bounty. New perspective: God is waiting to spend time with you; He is really excited to be with you and spend quality time with you. His favorite thing to do, is to be with you.The door is open wide and He is waiting to commune, because He loves you more than anything you could possible imagine.
