Do you know that its North that has threatened the unity of Nigeria more than other regions? A look at the historical killings in the North below would tell one that the region that hates hearing about disintegration of Nigeria has actually threatened the peaceful co-existence of Nigerians most: 1945 - Jos massacre 1953 - Kano massacre 1966 - Pogrom; more than 30, 000 killed 1980 - Kano Killings 1982 - Maiduguri Massacre 1984 - Yola Killings 1985 - Gombe Killings 1986 - Kaduna & Kafanchan Massacre 1987 - Zaria riot 1991 - Bauchi, Katsina & Kano Killings 1992 - Zango Kataf Killings 1993 - Funtua killings 1994 - Kano killings 1996 - Beheading of Gideon Akaluka in Kano 2000 - Damboa Massacre 2000 - Kaduna massacre 2001 - Maiduguri 2001 - Jos Riot 2002 - Kaduna 2010 - Jos bombing 2011 - Madalla bombing 2011 - Post-election violence 2012 - Mubi massacre 2013 - Numerous Kano bus bombings. However, I didnt include the countless occasions Fulani herdsmen have maimed and killed in communities in Benue, Plateau, Southern Kaduna, Nasarawa, Taraba, etc simply because such communities did not allow them to graze on their farmland. What I want northerners that abuse me here for always presenting facts is to tell me a region in Nigeria where such killings have taken place. These set of people that abuse me should always remember the words of Dante, an Italian poet: the worst place in hell will be reserved for good people who see evil and keep quiet. One thing every patriotic Nigerian would assert is that these killings would never stop. So, what then is the solution? Should we allow innocent people to keep dying? What amazes me is that the sectional and biased Hausa BBC wont report these killings but would be very fast to label JTF killing of boko haram members extra judicial killings
