Do you know that nostalgia of leaving something you love? Like a home or favourite nook... and if you ever return, it just wont feel the same? In 2008, my first UBC REC Day of the Longboat team capsized around the final buoy. And when I illegally swam all the way back to shore to hit the finish line gong, I knew I was hooked. Six years later, I had the honour of hitting that same gong to win the UBC Mens Championship. It pains me to think that I will never again participate in Day of the Longboat as a UBC student, but only because the memories and stories along the way have been such beacons in my life. Thank you #Longboat14 Crew for pulling off an incredible event and to my many teams over the years, especially that motley crew of engineers who somehow paddled our way to the two-peat. #Engineers4TripleCrown Also, if this post is any indication, Ill probably completely break down after Storm the Wall in March, so watch out.
