Do you know what it means to have a Guru? One can only answer for his or her self. Since meeting Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji 21 years ago, the changes within my being have been incredible. It is as if His Holiness recognized the latent beauty behind a badly damaged, corroded, misused and abused lamp. Slowly, over the years He gently, patiently, chipped away the surrounding tarnish, polishing to the point where much of the dinginess was dispelled. Finally, after much cleansing and restoring the lamp was once again able to be lit. Not only does His Holiness Light our path so that we can find our way, but He ‘resuscitates’ so as to restore God’s radiant glow thereby enhancing and increasing the Light of the world. Here’s what Pujya Sri Swamiji says, “If you become a devotee, the Guru will get you to perform some meritorious deeds, and gradually over a period of time through these changes you will shift from the path you are currently travelling on to the right path that leads you to the real destination.” - -.”- His Holiness Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji, Glimpses of Bhakti Mala III (Disciplines in Yoga Oct 1986)
