Do you know what the examiners want from you in passing papers F7, F8 and F9? If you are attempting/ re-attempting ACCA exams F7, F8 and F9 in June 2014 session, we highly recommend you should know what the examiners expect from you. It is extremely important that you do not repeat these mistakes which were made by students in previous exam sittings: 1. Failing to read the questions requirements clearly and therefore providing irrelevant or generic answers will not help you get marks. It is important that during practice you read requirements and answer accordingly. Use 15 minute RAPT (Reading and Planning Time) effectively to underline question requirements and answer by sticking to the requirement / marks allocated to the question before the exam begins. Poor time management between questions, if you write too much for a one question, this will put you under pressure to finish remaining questions. The key is ‘complete all questions’ – follow the rule 1 mark = 1.8 minutes accaglobal/content/dam/acca/global/PDF-students/2012s/eg_apr13_f4-9b.pdf 3. Failure to identify all the question requirements, “identify and explain or describe” are two separate requirements and both require an answer. Examiners have found it to be the most serious issue in answer script. Understanding question requirements: accaglobal/content/dam/acca/global/PDF-students/2012s/eg_apr13_f4-9b.pdf 4. Poor handwriting is still an important concern, if markers cannot read what a candidate has written, no marks can be awarded. 5. Practice, Practice & Practice! The more questions you practise, the more confident you will be that you have an approach that works for you and the better you will perform in the exam. You will also become more familiar with the way in which the information is presented and the sort of tasks you will be expected to perform. When practising questions: • work them to time, and • do not look at the answer until you have finished the whole question To access past papers and answers, click the link below: accaglobal/pk/en/student/acca-qual-student-journey/qual-resource/acca-qualification/f7/past-exam-papers.html.html
