Do you listen to music when you play? And does the music influence the choices you make? I love some music in the background and this evening it was Leonard Cohen and he certainly influenced the choices I made for dinner. I started off by tossing a few chunks of meat (pre-cooked in ginger and garlic) and some sliced cloves of garlic in a devilish Coorgi masala (earthy, potent and hearty). After sautéeing them in Mustard oil, I felt like an open sandwich and so, I freshened a couple of crusty slices of the home made multi-grain, wild yeast, bread till the crust crackled when I nibbled into them. I then loaded the slices with a thin layer of quark cheese and topped them with some pickled gherkins, fresh chopped tomatoes and torn lemon basil leaves and the meat. And, when I listened to Leonard in the background, while enjoying the contrasting textures and flavours - all I could say out aloud was Hallelujah! Good Night! :)
