Do you listen to music while you write? Does it inspire or distract you? I have a couple different genre of music i like to listen to while writing to help me develop the overall feel of the piece, sort of like a background soundtrack in a movie. Epic Music (Two Steps From Hell), Old school techno, some heavy grungy style rock or even a bit of something more classical if the piece I have in mind calls for it. I find that the music helps me set the mood and develop scenes according to the way I feel while listening to it.
