Do you love these dogs, or just the way they look? Why do so few people in the AMERICAN BULLY COMMUNITY discuss the temperament/personality traits in their bloodlines? Pros AND cons. Im not talking about how cute your dog is when he slides off of the sofa on his belly. Because ill be damned if thats not the funniest thing ever. What im talking about is how your dog behaves/reacts when not lounging around at home, cuddling with your kids (I know they are!). How does your favorite stud dog handle stress? What about misdirected, totally inappropriate drives such as chasing bikes or joggers? Is it okay for the couch potato dog that wont play fetch to be in a high state of arousal over a skateboard? In my opinion that would be unbalanced and not desirable. I get this vibe that people think every dogs traits are a random occurrence or that every behavior is a result of how the dog is raised. Sorry for anyone who thinks this but it is just not true. A Chihuahua will bark when someone knocks on your door and a Shiba Inu will simply not do this. Apply that example to different scenarios and youll see how genetics plays the largest role in what these dogs are actually doing. And not doing.
