Do you need a place of worship on Christmas Eve or Day? You are ALWAYS welcome at St. Katharine Drexel on N. Ogden in Lovejoy. One year ago today, I was hired by Heather Lovelace to sing for Mass and I was immediately enamored by the beauty of the building and all of its decorations, and truly welcomed by the parishioners. It was Christmas Day that I realized I had never left my Catholic faith and had a home waiting for me right there. I was told I could come back the following Sunday, and I did. Ive attended many Sundays following that one, as well. My wife and I both joined the chorus and now shes even going through RCIA classes to become part of this awesome faith. To my LGBT friends and allies, I promise you this ISNT the Catholic Church you grew up to remember. Change is happening and it is GOOD! Father James Monaco welcomes everyone to Gods table for communion and gives some of the most insightful and humbling homilies in the Buffalo Diocese. Our church is decorated beautifully for the holiday season, too. Seriously....if you need a place to call your own, come worship with us today or tomorrow. Todays mass is at 4pm and tomorrows is at 10am. You may love it enough to stay the rest of the year like I did. Merry Christmas Eve, my Facebook family.
