Do you need a refreshed perspective on parenting? Prayers of thankfulness have added a new dimension to my parenting. I try to thank God for my kids more than I ask God to change them... This practice has given me knew perspective. Gary Thomas Oh what truth lies in this. We can so easily concern ourselves more with praying for God to change our kids or protect them. But we want to pray and teach our children to pray with thankful hearts. Teach them how to move forward in spiritual growth rather than dwelling on the sin of our past. Lord, we pray you would help us parents to model what a deep prayer relationship with you looks like. We want our children to have an intimate walk with you and recognize that your Holy Spirit does the calling. We ask you would remind us to pray continually with ALL kinds of prayers and requests for our children... Not just prayers of protection and change. Help us to be the change we hope to see bc usually the sin our children struggle with is also a temptation for ourselves. Amen
