Do you not find it rather odd and contradictory that ever since the water and sewerage industry was privatised by this vile Tory Government, the distribution and sale of bottled water has gone up exponentially despite the fact we are paying private companies, through our Council Tax, to provide us with safe clean water? Not only have we been brainwashed (excuse the pun lol) into having to buy bottled water, but the private companies have arranged it (or one should say the vile Tory Party) so that it is the Local Councils that are responsible for the collecting, chasing up (at great expense to the Tax Payer) unpaid Council Tax and other administrative responsibilities, whilst at the same time the private water companies are making vast profits because this aspect of their business does not eat into their profits. It is also a fact that the maintenance of our water and sewerage network has never been worse in terms of repair, maintenance and investment (or lack of) and the wastage of water in terms of litres has gone up and up, and is well into the billions of litres per year going down the drain or out to sea. There is also a connection between the private water companies and this of other industries who may use water as part of the manufacturing process, where other private companies are getting away with dumping into the rivers and sea waste products which are harmful to human health and where the private water companies (as is their duty to monitor and make sure water is safe) are literally letting them get away with this act of environmental pollution and destruction. Is there a connection between a) wastage of the most precious commodity there is, water, to this of the private sector and their insatiable appetite for greed and profits? b) the water and sewerage industry and the chemical industry causing massive environmental and ecological damage and getting away with it? c) massive leakage of water in every major city and town because of poorly maintained pipes etc? d) Blatantly ripping off the consumer and businesses in terms of so-called metered water consumption (some consumers and businesses are paying as much 10 times more than other areas of the UK)? e) Is the relationship between the water and sewerage industry and the so-called Regulator highly questionable (7 of the people involved in acting as Regulator for the industry have major shares in 11 of the water and sewerage companies) ? Of course there is.
