Do you not say, There are still four months and then comes the harvest? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for the harvest! [John 4:35] Are we, the church, becoming preoccupied with ourselves? Are we so happy in our wealth and peace that we marinating in a stagnant, nonproductive state rather than striving to reach those who do not really know the Savior? I think of those around the world who are in prison for their faith or even lose their lives for the sake of getting those around them the knowledge of the Savior. (I was just checked by the Spirit in that I was thinking of other counties only...here in the USA we have become the silent majority, ostracized and our rights taken from us so we dont offend those who believe differently. What are we doing? What am I doing to change this? Okay, I went down a rabbit path and need to get back on track, but I do get angry at times.) No matter where we live there are emotional, spiritual, and physical needs to be met, but we MUST lift our eyes to the fields (and get them off ourselves)! Being sold out for Christ means radical changes, radical discipleship, becoming fools for Christs sake (1 Corinthians 4:10). Are we ready to deny self and discard what this world deems wisdom for the wisdom of God? Have we really given God permission to turn our comfort zones into scrimmage zones for the Kingdom? PRAYER: Father God, change my focus from personal peace and affluence to the harvest fields, not only around where I live but around the world. You know I really like to be in my comfort zone, God, but I truly want to be a radical disciple, so give me courage and show me where the scrimmage begins today! Amen :-D
