Do you or somebody you love suffer from chronic back pain? Did you know that chronic pain is actually stemmed from an unhealthy gut? Believe it. Its true! Millions of people take pain medications and undergo surgeries and extensive rehabilitation programs for back pain, the cause of so much suffering and prolonged absences from work. It turns out, though, that repairing the gut can put an end to many cases of back pain. 2 of the most common surgeries today are: removal of the gallbladder, and hysterectomies due to systemic inflammation caused by poor gut health. The gut pushes against neighboring abdominal organs including the kidneys, liver, ovaries, and uterus-causing dysfunctions of different degrees by reducing circulation in those organs-and the vertebrae and its emerging nerves. Inflammation in the gut causes the diaphragm to push up, thus compressing the lungs and stomach. Acid reflux could merely be avoided if the gut was healthy. To compensate for all this increased pressure, the body readjusts its posture. The result is back pain in all of its varying forms, each related to the specific ways in which an individuals body realigns to cope with how the engorged gut is affecting different organs. A healthy gut means a healthy back!
