Do you really want to stop the stadium? A call to action. There is an opportunity now to uncover the whole underbelly of the stadium deal and possibly see it unravel. It requires lots of us to get our elected officials, the media, and each other to wake up and get to work. We need our new mayor and our new city council, a majority of whom ran saying they opposed the stadium financing, to start calling for an investigation of the Stadium Authority. We need to know why did the Stadium Authority: Spend money they didnt have? That is, incur almost $30 million in debt before the financing was secured? Now they are looking for a source to meet their needs. Given the poor decision-making, and after the financing was delayed, this question must be answered. Was it performance based after only two months.? Is it a green parachute or a poison pill? This is our hard-earned money, taken from us to further enrich Ziggy Wilf, a billionaire who has been found to be a racketeer who lies to his business partners by a New Jersey Judge. Has his business processes influenced the Stadium Authority? This is the agency who will spend (excuse me, is spending) the majority of the $1.2 billion (before interest) in state and city tax dollars. What is going on? This week, we need our elected officials and each other to call for an investigation. We need to create the understanding that it is not just us three kooks who think the stadium deal can unravel. The Vikings own poll said that a referendum on stadium financing in Minneapolis would fail. Lets do it. We have a chance to stop this. We cannot rely upon the courts to win this, but they have given us a small window in which to act. Today Call Mayor Hodges, Call your Council Member, your legislators, your friends and neighbors. Demand accountability, demand an investigation, demand honesty.
