Do you remember the ASA ruling on the Ten Motives Ad? Well - TopicsExpress

Do you remember the ASA ruling on the Ten Motives Ad? Well following that, i sent an email to the ASA firstly telling them how disgusted i was with their ruling, and then asking them to explain why they had thought it reasonable to make such a judgment. I had a reply from them this morning, simply saying..... Ultimately we require all advertisers who make objectives claims to hold documentary evidence to prove them. In this case, Ten Motives Ltd did not hold supporting evidence which showed that the products featured in the ad were less harmful than smoking and did not have any negative effects on the users health. On that basis they were in breach of the Advertising Code., now how many other ads on TV would you say are making claims that they cant substantiate with documentary evidence...?
