Do you reread books? Do you rewatch movies? Do you replay video games? Im curious about this. I often replay games I love, and rewatch movies I love, and, to the woefully limited extent that I ever read, reread books that I love. My roommate recently asked me why I dont play new video games, and I likened it to why I dont order something new thats been highly recommended when I could just as well get that pizza I love so much. But really, I think it might have less to do with my reluctance to play new things than it does with my predilection for playing games I already know that I love. Why? Ostensibly, I enjoy video games, and every game I love was at one time new to me. So why do I have such a fondness for the classics? When I sit down to Final Fantasy VII, I know exactly whats going to happen in the precise order itll happen in, but I still enjoy it enough to want to play it, often more than something new and exciting that has a lot of positive buzz from trusted sources. Sometimes Ill abandon something new that Ive started in favor of something old that has crept into my mind. Chime in if this sounds like you, and chime in if youre the opposite. I would love to hear from people who eschew rereading, rewatching and replaying as much as friends who are like me.
