Do you support this type of behavior? This is a hard working Latino whos only trying to do his job, only to be treated like trash by some of our fellow Americans. Theyre trying to do their part in society, while there are those going against them, meaning against socio-economic progress for America. The answer? Immigration reform. Why is immigration reform important in this matter? Imagine if the ice cream man was working for an American company serving ice cream. If this happened to their employee, employment laws would protect them. Or even if he was self-employed, at least our civil laws would protect him because he would be a legal permanent resident or a US citizen. But chances are that this man, like many hardworking immigrants in the US, are undocumented and therefore cannot receive any help. The cops would stop them, sure, but no further repercussions for these perpetrators. How can we as a diverse nation continue to allow such wrongs to be committed? We say well they stepped into the wrong neighborhood. They dont belong... Theyre taking our jobs... How can they be taking your job when they cant get legally hired due to US laws restricting this? Companies cant hire undocumented workers. Thats just the how our laws work. And how can they not belong when your ancestors didnt belong either in the first place? That old and selfish mentality of stereotyping and rejecting certain groups, particularly minorities, must be crushed! In the last 20-30 years, the USA is the only unique nation (by diversity) in the world to DENY people that follow our parents, grandparents, and forefathers migrating to the good life tradition. We need to change this now! We cannot leave it to the past any longer to decide our future. We are the present, we are the NOW. We decide and we say YES to immigration reform! Please join me and many other supporters of immigration reform to push our government to take action!
