Do you want to find someone you can love or someone who loves talking about Objectivism? Because I dont think the two are mutually the same. Personally, I would love to find someone I can love, who loves Objectivism but who doesnt talk about it ad infinitum. You know, someone who doesnt jump in with an Ayn Rand quote of the moment to help you feel better if you happen to be down on yourself. There may be other important quotes to say. There many be other important subjects, or observations or anything else. I want to find an intelligent person who can give life to values, with whom I could talk about buildings and cats, software and the news of the day, with equal interest and intensity. Someone who knows and values how I think, who wouldnt just reiterate things like a computer nor expect me to do all the thinking myself. But who will jump head first into another world because there might be something worth exploring there. I would love that in a person. You know, the surprise element, but not surprise for surprises sake, you know.... SURPRISE, and then she pulls a rabbit out of her ass. Im talking about benevolent purposeful value oriented surprise, with a serious intent and dedication to the new found journey. We may call this... the discovery element. I think that, in the sense in which all living things must either grow or perish, so too... all living relationships must grow or perish. And this type of growth is fundamentally dependent on a certain type of discovery process, the kind I described above. Theres more to it of course, which I havent thought of yet, but the above represents what I think is essential. And indeed... the best thing about such an individual for me would be just looking at them. Because... that kind of person would be a giant, their smile would not only reflect the beauty of existence, but also the understanding that the desire to live is what brings beauty to existence.
