Do you want your opinions read by millions? Enter 2014s bigger and better Column Idol Media Trust has joined forces with The Sun for the fifth year to launch Column Idol 2014, an initiative to find undiscovered writing talent and get young voices heard. Fronted by Radio 1 presenter Nick Grimshaw, the competition is back to offer you the chance to be mentored by top journalists, have your opinions read by millions and for the first time attend a weeks intensive training course. This year ten young people will have a side column published in The Sun. Five finalists will receive mentoring at The Suns summer school and one winner will get their own full-page column printed and win two further weeks mentoring and training at The Sun, through Media Trusts youth mentoring scheme. The popular competition has seen previous finalists secure top jobs at national papers including 2010s winner Lee Price, a feature writer for The Sun and last years finalist Alex Harris, an online journalist at The Daily Express.
