Doctor visited this morning and gave us the results of the engraftment of donor cells - she is 33%. This means the cells in her bone marrow are 33% donor and 67% mattie cells. She still has drainage from the heart so no discharge today. Her blood counts are stable - no blood infusion needed today! Mattie has been irritable this morning - they call it steroid rage she takes 11.5 mg of steroids twice a day - just gave her a little ativan to take the edge off. They plan to start weening her off the steroids soon. Please pray that her donor cell percentage will increase - a drop in % could bring back the discussion of transplant. She has to have donor cell that produce the enzyme to treat her Hurlers diagnosis. The doctors do say that a fluctuation in percentage of donor cells is common - she just has to make enough to produce adequate enzymes - 30% is suffcient - we would just like to see greater numbers to have a safety zone.
