Doctors told to report patients who put on weight: telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/11295265/Doctors-told-to-report-patients-who-put-on-weight.html SAY WHAT?! Doctors in Great Britain are now being asked to share with the government about their patients who are obese in an effort to get back in shape those who need to improve their health. This help from the NHS (UKs equivalent of the FDA/Health & Human Services in the US) includes tests for pre-diabetes along with healthy lifestyle advice and close monitoring to ensure they are eating better and exercising more. Oh great, here we go--eat less fat and calories, exercise more on the treadmill, and get used to being hungry. Unless they predicate this program on a customized approach that incorporates all treatment modalities, including a low-carb, high-fat diet, I predict this attempt at forcing obesity rates to go down will be an abysmal failure. We dont need more of the same failed advice. The time has come to offer people REAL choices to get their lives back.
