Doctrines about the Second Coming of Christ are key in the churches attended by some of North America’s most powerful people and their supporters — including outgoing President George W. Bush, hundreds of key U.S. politicians, and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and many of his cabinet ministers.....Many pre-millennialists also believe ecological catastrophe is a (positive) sign of a coming Apocalypse...Which view of the End Times is held by Stephen Harper‘s long-time denomination, the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church? The website of the Canadian arm of the denomination has a statement of faith that says Jesus Christ “will come again to establish His kingdom of righteousness and peace.” The Alliance denomination also believes those who do not accept Jesus as their saviour will suffer eternal torment.
