Does God Only Work Through Chosen People? Im having an inbox discussion with a friend who is discouraged because hes prayed for 50 or 60 people and no one has been healed yet. Hes mad at God and ready to give up. In our last exchange he told me God only works through certain people He chooses...and he must not be one of them. Let me explain whats going on behind the scenes that most people dont understand: Every one I know who operates successfully in the miraculous (with a couple of exceptions) has had to persevere through a long season of failure at the start. They prayed for hundreds of people, without seeing one of them healed. Its annoying as heck to stand in a grocery store praying for someone in a wheelchair to be healed and have nothing happen. Its humiliating to stand there command blind eyes to see only to have the person leave 20 minutes later with their vision no better than when you started. If were honest, wed admit that weve all gotten mad at God and at times thought about quitting. Failure isnt a whole lot of fun. The difference between successful and unsuccessful people is not whether theyve been chosen by God. Its how they respond to failure. Every believer has been chosen by God. We all have access to the same power through the Holy Spirit, but some of us by virtue of our persistence use it more effectively. Success is not a matter of anointing. Its a matter of persistence. Failure makes one person quit while it makes another person go to God and ask what theyre doing wrong. Everyone is going to fail. But successful people refuse to quit.
