Does HCW still support the Neighbourhood Watch? HCW have - TopicsExpress

Does HCW still support the Neighbourhood Watch? HCW have supplied a free service to all NHW patrollers for the last 5 years and we will continue to support NHW patrollers on patrol - just through a different medium. We will continue to respond to any imminent or suspected crime in progress, as this benefits the whole community. Persons who own their own radio will be talking to the NHW Control Room, who are free to contact our Control Room for assistance in an emergency. We believe that Neighbourhood Watch offers an important service to our community, and the NHW approved working guideline will continue to be our operating standard. Why did HCW stop responding to NHW Radio on 14/03/2014? HCW was informed on 07/3/2014 that NHW was forming their own Control Room, with different security companies operating on the radio network, and negotiations already well under way. We remain concerned that the involvement of too many role players will lead to our efforts being compromised, hence our decision to cut our links to the NHW Radio network. How will communication via telephone affect our service? Telephone communication has been responsible for the bulk of our arrests, which are made in close cooperation with SAPS, the Community and the Neighbourhood Watch. Our Control Room operates 24/7, backed up by seven armed patrol vehicles at all times. We believe our service to the community is effective, and our record over the last three years speaks for itself. How does this affect HCW Subscribers who do not have a radio? The HCW subscriber benefits will remain exactly the same, and we will continuously evaluate and where applicable enhance our service to our loyal subscribers.
