Does Our Selection Of A Religion Matter? Some may wonder, doesn’t all religions have good in them, and thus, don’t they all lead to God? Unfortunately, this assumption is not true! Then, what does the Bible really teach? Revelation 18:4-6 tells us, after we have identified the wrong one, we need to get out, why? It says: “And I heard another voice out of heaven say: “Get out of her, my people, if you do not want to share with her in her sins, and if you do not want to receive part of her plagues. (5) For her sins have massed together clear up to heaven, and God has called her acts of injustice to mind. (6) Repay her in the way she treated others, yes, pay her back double for the things she has done; in the cup she has mixed, mix a double portion for her.” This means, Jehovah God is tired of the lies being told on Him as well as all the unjust acts committed by those religions claiming to represent Him. He got tired of the nation of Israel for doing the same thing, and said: “This people approaches me with their mouth And they honor me with their lips, but their heart is far removed from me; and their fear of me is based on commands of men that they have been taught.” (Isaiah 29:13) Jesus Christ said the same thing to them, some 800 years later, at Mark 7:6-8: “He said to them: “Isaiah aptly prophesied about you hypocrites, as it is written, ‘This people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far removed from me. (7) It is in vain that they keep worshipping me, for they teach commands of men as doctrines.’ (8) You let go of the commandment of God and cling to the tradition of men.” Now, read verse 7 one more time, it is the reason why our selection of a Religion really does matters! We could spend our whole life worshipping God the wrong way, making it all for nothing! Vain means all for nothing! So, the serious question to ask is, does my religion follow the bible or the commandments of men? For instance, the bible says Jehovah God is the Almighty, and Jesus Christ is a Mighty God. (Revelation 15:3; Isaiah 9:6) Some men teach, God and Christ are one and the same, but in the bible, Jesus said this at John 14:28: “You heard that I said to you, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I am.” Who’s right Jesus or the teaching of men? Some men teach, all good people go to heaven to eat and drink milk and honey, but the bible teaches only a 144,000 will go to heaven to serve as kings and priests for a 1,000 years. (Revelation 14:1; 20:6) Do you agree with men or the bible? If you or your religion agrees with the teachings of men, it is pass time to get out! Follow the bible, not men by going to jw.org.
