Does anybody else worry about the state in which cars are still able to pass their MOT? My son tested a car today and it passed with a whopping 24 advisory items. I got him to send me the list of them so I could post them on here. Surely this thing is an accident waiting to happen: - Steering column top bearing slightly worn (2.1.2c) - Steering system has slight free play detected at steering wheel (2.2.A.1b) - Front registration plate deteriorated but not likely to be misread (6.3.1d) - Rear registration plate deteriorated but not likely to be misread (6.3.1d) - Front Sub-frame corroded but not seriously weakened (2.4.G.1) - Both front Suspension arm corroded but not seriously weakened (2.4.G.1) - Both front Trailing arm corroded but not seriously weakened (2.4.G.1) - Both front coil spring corroded (2.4.C.1b) - Both rear coil spring corroded (2.4.C.1b) - Rear Sub-frame corroded but not seriously weakened (2.4.G.1) - Rear Subframe mounting prescribed area is corroded but not considered excessive (2.4.A.3) - Front too rear Brake pipe slightly corroded (3.6.B.2c) - Both front Tyre worn close to the legal limit (4.1.E.1) - Both front Brake hose has slight corrosion to ferrules (3.6.B.4e) - Both front inner wings Suspension component mounting prescribed area is corroded but not considered excessive (2.4.A.3) - Both rear inner wings Suspension component mounting prescribed area is corroded but not considered excessive (2.4.A.3) - Both inner and outer sills Suspension component mounting prescribed area is corroded but not considered excessive (2.4.A.3) - Rear floor Seat belt anchorage prescribed area is corroded but not considered excessive (5.2.6) - Inner sills Seat belt anchorage prescribed area is corroded but not considered excessive (5.2.6) - Offside Rear Brake pipe slightly corroded (3.6.B.2c) - Windscreen scratched - Vechicle undersealed - Fuel pipe/s corroded - Both rear arches corroded
