Does anybody have a creative solution for wirelessly triggering - TopicsExpress

Does anybody have a creative solution for wirelessly triggering show cues for a touring production to schools? Weve been using a basic 2.4 Ghz presentation remote that interfaces with a Windows laptop via a USB dongle, and had one remote that worked really well...but its recently started giving us problems. Ive now ordered 3 other remotes (count em, 3), and all of them have intermittently lost communication with the computer. We need something ROCK-SOLID--when we hit the go button, we need to know the cue will GO! This is not, strictly speaking, a lighting question, because we dont travel with lighting--just sound and projection--but a friend suggested that I post it here since so much show control technology overlaps. Any thoughts?
