Does anyone have any actual, verifiable statistics that demonstrate that black cats are at higher risk during October. As usual, I see all the memes and posts about it all over my news feed. Ive even heard that shelters and rescues do not allow adoption of black cats during October because of this. I personally called my local animal shelter, and I called the NJ chapter of the ASPCA, and they told me that this is nonsense. They have no restrictions on adoptions whatsoever. I also spent about two hours on line last night looking for statistics on this, and I could not find any other than the usual rumors, anecdotes, and conjecture. If anyone has anything verifiable, I would be interested in seeing it. archive.rgj/article/20111031/NEWS20/111031037/Fact-checker-black-cats-more-danger-around-Halloween-
