Does anyone in my friends list have any authoritative knowledge about heavy metal poisoning? Long term effects, and such? I grew up in a small town, Northport WA. Its right by the Canadian border, along the Columbia River. Just North of the border, theres a refinery that has a history of dumping toxic chemicals into the river. As a kid, I used to swim in this river every summer. Probably accumulated a lot of lead, mercury and other nasty stuff into my system. Just wondering about long term effects? How do I get tested for something like this? Do I need to go to a specialist? Ive been thinking about getting bloodwork done for quite some time now, but dont know how to get started on it. And dont have the spare income to just walk into a doctors office blindly with my questions. Please keep the outrage and alternative medicine posts to a minimum.
