Does anyone know anyone in the pittsburgh area with welding/construction skills and tools? My landlord is willing to pay for the job but doesnt have anyone who can do it. The project is the railing on the outside stairs at my house. The thing is like 2 feet off the ground so its so low that its almost useless but I still rely on it because I have so much difficulty with stairs, but its really painful to do so and I dont know how anyone would use it when the stairs get icy and snowy. I want to say that its iron but Im not really sure. Its anchored into the dirt next to the concrete edging on the steps and is maybe 8 feet long. I suppose the options would either be welding a higher piece onto the existing railing or removing it and putting a new one in, but I have no experience with this so anything that works works. Like I said, the landlord is willing to pay for the job. He didnt specify an amount, but we can talk about it.
