Does anyone on here have problems with sweat getting into the mic on their headset when teaching Body Combat? I use an AKG headset, same as Les Mills use at the moment for their dvd filming. I am generally really pleased with it but the moisture guard that fits around the boom of the mic is small and flimsy. I sweat a lot and its really not up to the job. I noticed on the dvd for BC60 that the presenters had a much larger more robust looking blue sweat shield on their headsets, which got me wondering if this was an update by AKG or a diy mod by Les Mills? Well, I asked the question and got the following answer from Richard Braid of J & S in New Zealand, suppliers to Les Mills: It’s actually a bright idea that I had while trying to solve the sweat issues……Believe it or not it’s a docking / castration ring – used by farmers to remove the tails of lambs etc. It’s not perfect, but works a lot better than the ring supplied by AKG. You should be able to get hold of some at any farm supply store. And I did, £1.36 for a box of 100, just the job! Should work on other brands of headset mic too I reckon. Hope this tip might be of some use to other sweaty instructors out there!! 😅
