Does anyone recall seeing multiple posts like this one from Francesca Landi Diaz before Christmas? At the urging of some friends, acquaintances, and fellow residents that dont want to get burned, I have decided to post my experience hiring Francesca to decorate my Christmas tree. Francesca, a FH resident, was advertising that she would come decorate your tree for a small fee (pic # 1) so I PMd her. She quoted $150 to decorate the tree and $50 to decorate the house (pic 2) . I asked if she would do $100.00 which she agreed to. Several days beforehand she PMd me that all the lights need to be hooked up (pic 4) to make sure they work. (okay, that makes sense...no biggie). 9pm Saturday, the night before our appointment, she calls and says she doesnt do lights and we need to already have them on the tree when she gets there in the a.m. WHAT?! What is my $100.00 for? Ok, ok...... so Sunday morning, Dec 7th, we wake up extra early and put them all on the tree (8-10 strands). She shows up at 1pm, says its all wrong and has us take them all down and helps us put just 3 strands back on (she said she doesnt like lights because it creates a liability for her if they break???). An hour or so later after putting her sparkly stuff on my tree she says I did mention these were $5.00 each, right?. Ahhhh, big ole negative there!! NOPE! She NEVER mentioned it; all I saw was small fee on all her posts and knew that I hired her to do this for $100.00. Thats the small fee, right?! WRONG! She then tells me the sparkly stuff was an additional $115.00 so now were up to $215.00. (Tell me again where the small fee part comes in, please) We did a real tree this year and she said the branches needed to settle or drop and she would be back Thursday, Dec 11th, to finish. She never came back. She would see my PMs on FB, but not answer (pic #8). Eventually she replied and told me she doesnt do ornaments, and all she would have done when she came back is add more beads to the tree (of course she would....cha-ching... to charge me more), etc... (pic # 10). I even quoted her words to her copying and pasting them directly out of FB Messenger and PMing them to her...if she did reply, she would just argue. After much consideration I went to her post on this page about decorating your tree for a small fee and commented that if anyone was interested in my experience they could PM me and I would share a copy of my check she cashed the very next day, the 8th, for $300.00 (I tipped her), (pic # 47) and screenshots of her responses that she doesnt do lights and ornaments. She deleted her post with my comment momentarily. Shame on me for prepaying, but I figured it was a FH resident and trustworthy like most are!!! In the end, all she did was charge me $5.00 each for her sparkly stuff that I later found on Old Time Potterys site for $1, $2, $3 each (full price, not on clearance --- pics 18, 19, & 20) after finding multiple price tags from her sparkly stuff on my floor which she claims ... those tags could have come from anywhere. (pic # 15) She said her cost was $4.00 each and she added $1.00 per item for her gas. AGAIN, I am failing to understand what the $100.00 was for and where her small fee comes in. Boy...do I feel taken! Next time 50% up front and 50% when the job is done, FH resident or not (Im sorry to say, because 95% of the residents are wonderful and honest)!! So, she walked out of my house with a $300.00 check she cashed the next day and all she did was put her sparkly stuff on my tree, charged me $5.00 per item, and didnt even put my ornaments on. Pic 26 is my finished tree according to her. Pic #s 27 - 34 are the pictures she advertised. Ultimately, she claimed my tree looked like crap cause it was a real tree and ...far from less to perfect... (whatever that means??) (pic # 14). She also mentioned that she cashed my check right away because 2 people had screwed her and she ... didnt want to take a chance on a third check coming back to [her]... (pic # 11). NO WAY!!! She got screwed by performing a service and not getting paid?? Does this sound like NOT performing a service AND GETTING PAID IN FULL??? Just be careful, people. I dont know how some people sleep at night, but they do. I have many more screenshots and pictures if anyone is interested. PM me and Ill be happy to share! There are just too many to post them all here. p.s. I guess decorating my house meant charging me $13.00 per roll for 2 rolls of green ribbon and winding it around my banister. (pic #46) That was $76.00!
