Does anyone remember the night that Gault Avenue Baptist Church burned? It was sometime in the late 60s or very early 70s. I lived directly across the road and, as a child, it was one of the most frightening nights I can remember. The police came around the neighborhood waking everyone up in preparation for a possible evacuation. As I recall they were concerned about a gas leak and potential for an explosion! Luckily there was no evacuation or subsequent explosion, however the building was a total loss.
