Does geographic authenticity matter to you when admiring homes? My mom used to scoff at this futuristic Southwestern mansion in our town as being out of place in Kentucky when I was growing up. I now live in Knoxville, TN and see so many brick ranchers (colonial style? I guess?). Theyre so boring. Nearby Oak Ridge has a lot of cool mid century homes since the town pretty much started in the 1940s and grew rapidly in the following decades. (Im trying to convince DH that we need to buy one of those!) Anyway... Im wondering, is there a variation in MCM style thats more authentic to different parts of the country? Frank Lloyd Wright homes are often on the east coast? But then theres that beautiful California style Dallas home that I see in the post from earlier today. Im new and learning. I value your thoughts on this!
