Does the Illuminati Exist? I have always wanted to scrutinize the subsistence of the infamous Illuminati and examine whether or not such a prestigious group actually exists and I have finally gathered enough information from relative and reliable sources to formulate a reasonably cogent Facebook status. HERE WE GO! Founded on May 1st, 1776, The Illuminati actually existed (past tense) in Bavaria. Although it only lasted for about 10 years, it was composed of many enlightened philosophers and was founded by a law school professor named Adam Weishaupt. The original reason this ambiguous organization was created was in order to overthrow the Jesuits (created to combat the protestant criticisms of the Catholic church). As the Jesuits began to prosper, Adam Weishaupt began to get nervous that his Scientific approach to the world was in jeopardy so he created a group, whose purpose was to remain enlightenedand thats what the term Illuminati actually means. Do NOT let this secret society fool you because the majority of their accomplishments included fighting with THEMSELVES. 10 years after the formation of the Illuminati, Adam Weishaupt who was also the Duke of Bavaria, banned ALL secret groups but that is where the secrecy begins. Many people believe that once Adam banned the Illuminati, they went underground until the most powerful Catholic leader was beheaded during the French Revolution. The reason the all-seeing eye became a popular icon for the Illuminati was because Adam Weishaupt drew a picture of it in his library during the 18th century and introduced the icon to George Washington, after Adam traveled to the United States (there is a conspiracy that Adam replaced George Washington with a prominent member of his enlightened society from Europe but that is not true). The TRUTH is that the United States was built on ideologies including the freedom of speech, freedom of religious principles, and egalitarianism and that this country is the embodiment of the original views of the real Illuminati. What is commonly referred to as the modern Illuminati ACTUALLY goes by a much different name. The 5 richest people in the world, who meet three times a year in a secret place in Colorado called, The Meadow include the Queen of England, The Vatican, The Gettys, and The Rothschilds (fun fact that Colonel Sanders from KFC was originally in this group until he relinquished his life). This powerful faction refers to themselves as the Pentaverate but the name of the secret group that runs things from behind the scenes is a moot point (meaning any name will do). The proper noun Illuminati is not what any of the factions use as their name, but prestigious groups do exist; I.E. Skull & Crossbones Society, Quill & Dagger Society, Freemasons, and Rosicrucians just to name a few of them.
