Does the act of me claiming "2 + 2=4" carry with it the implicit - TopicsExpress

Does the act of me claiming "2 + 2=4" carry with it the implicit notion that I think of myself as the ultimate and authoritative authority on arithmetic? Further would for me to assert that someone else who claimed 2 and 2 make 5 was wrong carry with it a similar implication? I think most people would say no. The fact is my assertion what is a correct answer to the question of 2 + 2 and what is not, is entirely valid not because I say it is but rather because the principles of mathematics dictate this, and I am merely recognizing this. So to and for the same reasons when I label a certain hypothetical action or belief as either being a violation of the NAP or logically incompatible with the concept of NAP I am NOT claiming that my approval or recognition is in itself what makes such evaluation valid. Rather when I make these evaluations I am appealing to logic and reason as the verifiers of my assertion that a certain act is in violation of the NAP and conversely if a certain belief is logically incompatible with it as a concept. I do hope others can finally recognize this point and will stop confusing an appeal to logic and reason with a pretentious claim of omniscience on this subject.
