Does there NEED to be some sort of transcendent justification for respect of the planet and the ecosystem were inescapably part of? Or does the transcendentalist idea that were somehow better than all other beings on this planet and all the worldly things are bad promote this ecological apathy? As I had said recently in a meeting with some of my friends, our developed ability to internalize experiences and reflect on them before making a good amount of our decisions is a gift of sorts. We should use that ability to better not only our species, but our world, in every way possible. It should ultimately be our responsibility to use our logic and rationality to try to understand our world to the best of our ability and then work to leave the lightest footprint in the soil. A footprint that cultivates rather than consumes and crushes the planet and its constituents. Have a symbiotic relationship with our planet rather than a parasitic one. From a very young age I have lacked a belief in the supernatural and all transcendent entities, but I saw myself as visiting this planet, not owning it. Im not entitled to its resources. I have access to them, but they are not mine for the taking. I feel its my responsibility to respect the environment that gave me and my species everything. Mother nature does have a nice ring to it. realnews24/gray-whale-dies-bringing-us-a-message-with-stomach-full-of-plastic-trash/ youtu.be/ozBE-ZPw18c
