Does your cat insist on drinking from running water, like the sink, instead of their water dish? This is because there’s still some wild in their genes. In the wild, cats never drink from a water source that is close to their food because the water can be contaminated by the food and make them sick and die. Thus, they are drawn to the sound of running water by nature because it’s fresh and uncontaminated. I have two cats that hate each other, and fight, Wendy and Fiona. Wendy has her own food and water in my bedroom, on top of a tall dresser. If Fiona gets into my room, the first thing she does is take food out of Wendy’s dish and then drops it in Wendy’s water. For two years, Fiona has been trying to kill Wendy, and I never knew. True story.
