Dog Rant - So Im on my run this morning, and going up 156th. A pit bull who weight probably about 80+ pounds was barking from the other side of the road. I didnt worry because he was in a fenced yard, and the fence seems to be about 4 to 41/2 feet tall. All of a sudden, I was pull backwards and felt a hard tug on my shorts. I screamed (of course, totally startled me), looks down and here was this dog bearing it teeth & ready to attack me. All traffic at this point had stop because he darted across the road after me. All I could do was talk nice and simply stay calm and keep walking away. A lady in a red car was terrified for me. She told she was going to call Animal control and report the incident. Im just lucky to have walk away with only a mark on my shorts and not a bit mark my legs or worse. Funny thing is, I was going to take Bella with me, but something told me to leave her home this morning. If I had brought her, Im am 100% sure she would be dead at this moment trying to defend me. To all pit bull owners - if you chose to own a dog that is so natural aggressive then maybe you shouldnt chose to live in the city when innocent bystanders are just minding their own business but still at risk of injury or death because of your dog. When a non-provoked dog attacks, that dog needs to be destroyed - PERIOD!!! Ok, rant over.
