Doing a search for Boaz I found that Boaz means quickness and with a further look strength is within him (bo=in him, az=strength). We cannot talk about Ruth the virtuous woman without talking about Boaz. So again I read the Book of Ruth as a matter of fact the Lord has had me to read the Book of Ruth several times over the past 2 days. Upon reading it twice last night the Lord had me to take note of the character of Boaz. First of all Boaz was not just wealthy, the word of God says that Boaz was a mighty man of wealth. Yes Boaz had money, but wealth also denotes wisdom and wherewithal and where Boaz is concerned He was mighty in it all. Boaz had servants that did His bidding, but in my reading Boaz was not a hard task master and He not only gave command but he also was right there in the thick of things during the harvest helping to get things right (3:2). And it appeared to me in reading Ruth that Boaz had the respect of his servants and they obeyed his command. Okay now....take notice brothers and sisters. Boaz was a man of God (2:4,12). Boaz was a protector (2:8-9). Boaz was kind and considerate (2:14). Boaz was an abundant provider (2:15-16; 3:15). Boaz was a shrewd business man (3:18; 4:1-9) and Boaz was a man of honor (4:10). Boaz, what a man, what a man, what a man! Upon reading about Boaz for 2 days it is plain to see why the woman that read the Word of God and rave about Boaz and I hear the term Im waiting on my Boaz so often. What woman would not want a Boaz? The question I must pose again as was posed on yesterday is... Are you a Ruth? Again I say to you, Boaz does not take notice of Delilahs. Boaz takes notice of woman with integrity (2:11) and Boaz takes notice of woman that do not run after men be they rich or poor (3:10). Boaz is a man that takes care of business with the quickness and he is sharp, astute and keen and the woman that Boaz wants is Ruth. Now lets look at Boaz and take note that Boaz is a type of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The character that Boaz shows is the character of our Lord. Our Lord Jesus is about the Fathers business, always. Our Lord Jesus is always protecting and concerned for our wellbeing. Our Lord Jesus is kind and considerate toward us, He knows our weakness and He does not condemn us but He stretches out His hand to help us. Our Lord Jesus provides for us, not only what we need but in abundance, running over, so that we have more than enough. Our Lord Jesus knows how to take care of business concerning us nothing gets by Him and He is for us through all that we encounter. Our Lord Jesus IS honor and He deserves the highest respect, esteem, worship and praise! We must take the time to raise our sons to be Boaz in essence teach them to be like Jesus! Sisters, keep your eyes on Jesus and be a virtuous woman and He will send you your Boaz, a man like as unto himself. Brothers, set your eyes on Jesus and be men of integrity, be men like Jesus and the Lord will reveal your Ruth.
